This article contains lore based on real-life sources from Norse mythology as introduced from the God of War Norse era.
Vigridr, also know as Vígríðr or Óskópnir, is a location in God of War: Ragnarök. This region of Asgard plays a crucial role as it is the very place where most of the Norse realms lead their assault against the Aesir during Ragnarök.
Norse Mythology[]
Vígríðr is a large battlefield that is foretold to host the final battle between the forces of the Norse Gods and their enemies during Ragnarök. This field is also where the two forces will clash each other in an ultimate battle that will result in the destruction of the world as well as its submergence into the sea before being born anew.
Vígríðr is also the place where the deaths of many important Norse Gods take place, including that of Odin, Thor, Freyr, Týr, Heimdall, and Loki, where each of them would meet their respective fates.
Description[]
Vigridr takes on the appearance of a stereotypical battlefield. There are military outposts, small wooden forts, and trenches that had been dug into the earth . There are also masses of barricades made of sharp logs. Parts of Vigridr are also armed with war machines imbued with Bifröst energy.
