Theseus' Sword is the weapon of choice of the hero Theseus. It appears in God of War II, as Kratos confronts Theseus in the Steeds of Time. The weapon is a double-bladed sword that can be used as a sword as well as a spear.

God of War II

Kratos attempted to reach the Island of Creation by way of the Steeds of Time, only to encounter the aged Greek hero Theseus, who guarded the Steeds. He challenged Kratos to a battle, using his blade against the Spartan, only for the ash-colored warrior to use the hero's sword to pin him against a door. After which, Kratos killed Theseus by crushing his head with the door.

Powers and abilities

Theseus' sword can harness the power of ice and icy blue magic and direct it towards his opponents. It makes the wielder also capable of summoning giant ice spikes around him or summon them from a distance as Theseus proved when he was standing on the Steeds of Time. It also has the power to summon bloodthirsty Erebus Minotaurs at any time.

• The ability to summon Minotaurs is a reference to the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.
