The Corpse Eater is an optional boss in God of War: Ragnarök.
It is one of the dragons that can be hunted in the Vanaheim jungle. It is fought during the Trail of the Dead favor.

"I did not think dragons took pleasure in scavenging. We found this creature after defeating two ogres. I had defeated the second of the two, and this Corpse Eater took advantage of our victory and flew off with its prize. We then gave chase. I have no use for a dead ogre, but there is no pride in stealing another's kill."
Encounter[]
The Corpse Eater is first sighted after opening the dam during the Return of the River favor. After climbing down the dam, Mimir spots a gazelle standing on a ridge. He remarks on life already returning to the jungle when the Corpse Eater snatches the gazelle and flies away with it.
When Kratos was about to kill an ogre, the Corpse Eater appeared to grab it and fly away with the kill, causing Mimir to call the dragon an "opportunistic sod." The Corpse Eater is devouring the ogre until confronted Kratos and Atreus/Freya. The Corpse Eater was soon killed. According to Mimir, the ogre is already dead due to the Corpse Eater devouring it.
It drops the Sigil of Doom on defeat.
Trivia[]
- The Corpse Eater is the only dragon boss with a unique cutscene when Kratos kills the ogre.
