In the God of War comics, Kratos wielded the Sword of Valor, which was used to slay the heroes he had encountered while seeking to capture the great healing liquid known as Ambrosia. The sword was awarded to him by his superiors for demonstrating unmatched strength and bravery in countless battles.
This weapon is also seen in some God of War flashbacks, as the sword he wielded before pledging loyalty to Ares.
