Surviving Fimbulwinter

Surviving Fimbulwinter is one of the goals in God of War Ragnarök. It is the first goal in The Path. It mostly serves as a tutorial and setting up important plot points.

Synopsis[]

Three years after fulfilling Faye's last wish, Kratos and Atreus prepare for the soon-to-come Ragnarök. While Kratos guilts his wife's loss, Atreus secretely investigates his persona as Loki. After escaping Freya's attack, Atreus finds his wolf Fenrir dying. Atreus uncontrollably transforms into a bear, and upon returning home, find themselves confronted by Thor and Odin themselves -- a vision Atreus had in his youth. Odin offers peace; Kratos, feeling it trick, refuses, and he is forced into a battle with Thor. Both survive and return to their home. Kratos learns Odin has invited Atreus to Asgard and his search for Týr. Kratos reluclantely agrees and they reach a nearby shrine, which Atreus's Giant powers show a secret entrance depicting Ragnarök led by Týr. With clues leading to Svartalfheim, the two enlist Sindri's help and find shelter in their hideout in the Realm Between Realms.

Objective Information[]

More snow. We must head home.

Atreus has not returned home from burying the wolf. My worry grows. I will follow his tracks.

Atreus grows in ways I do not understand. I fear I cannot guide him on his path. For now, we return home.

Will the gods of this land never leave us in peace? Atreus is still at the house with the old man I must hurry home.

Atreus has been searching for Týr behind my back. He claims there is something in the forest that I should see. My patience grows thin... but I will go with him.

It appears Týr is not dead. Mimir believes he is held in Svartalfheim. For now, we return home.

We are no longer safe in Midgard. The Dwarf who adided my son in his search for Týr offers us shelter. I will accept his offer. For now.
