In God of War Ragnarök[]

At some unknown point in the middle of Fimbulwinter in Midgard, Kratos and Atreus encountered the Kol Raiders, who were notorious for hunting and eating wolves. The duo came across Speki and Svanna presumably when they were young and rescued them from the clutches of the Raiders and brought them home. Atreus decided to name them, to Kratos' objections. A sled was built and the wolves were tethered to it to pull it, which made transport across the hostile terrain and frozen Lake of Nine significantly easier for the father and son.

At the start of the game, they are first seen pulling the sled back to the perimeter of the protection staves, where Kratos and Atreus are ambushed by Freya. They are unharmed during this attack and pull the sled back to the home, where Atreus rewards them with a recently killed deer for dinner.

Their kennels are located nearby the house down a slope and near a gate that leads to the Lake of Nine. For the most part, they stay here.

When Kratos and Freya return to Midgard to search for the Nornir, Kratos connects them to the sled and shows them a piece of thread for them to track the Norn's scent. They are hesitant about Freya, as she was a previous enemy, but they seem to accept her per Kratos' orders. Freya points out how their fur is matted, which can lead to disease, and chastises Kratos for his indifference, pointing out that they'll care for him if he does the same to them. They are instrumental to finding the Norns after several dead ends.

While exploring the Lake of Nine, Kratos and company can find several Kol Raider camps, which causes distress for the wolves, so he sets out to eliminate the Raiders to put them at ease. At one point he gets irritated by their whining and either Atreus or Freya will chastise him for this. After the Kol Raiders are wiped out, they are still scared, but Kratos comforts them.

At one point in Alfheim, while riding the Gulon-drawn sled, Mimir will point out that they could bring the Gulon back to Midgard to keep Speki and Svanna company, but Freya says that it would be cruel as the Gulon have grown accustomed to Alfheim.

Description[]

Speki and Svanna are two female large wolves that wear harnesses to connect them to a sled for pulling Kratos and his companion. At one point Kratos mistakes them for males, but is immediately corrected. Both have grey and white coats, but Speki has more brown in her fur in several places, noticeably her tail.
