“ | And on this day, Kratos had been called upon by the gods to confront an unthinkable evil, unleashed on the city of Attica by the invading Persian Army. | ” |

In God of War: Chains of Olympus, the Siege of Attica was the invasion of the Greek city of Attica by an invading Persian Fleet, which was led by the Persian King, and aided by the Basilisk. By the command of the Olympian Gods, Kratos was called to Attica to fight off the invading Persians and the rampaging Basilisk. The siege ended in victory for the city of Attica after Kratos killed the Persian King and the Basilisk.

Trivia[]
- While no siege of Attica by Persians ever happened in real life, during the First Persian Invasion of Greece, the Persian fleet indeed went through Attica though only down the coast instead.
- It's possible the Siege of Attica is meant to be an analogue to the real-life Battle of Marathon, as the only decisive Greek victory in Attica during the Persian Wars.
- Given the Persian Kings fearlessness and dismissive statements towards the Gods of Olympus, it is possible that the Empire was backed by some of the Persian dieties.
