Prometheus is a titan and his name means forethought. Prometheus is the wiser than the even the gods and an hero to mankind. He created man and tired to help them and was punished by Zeus. Unlike the gods, who made the lives of mortals difficult Prometheus was a helpful.
Titanomachy
As a titan, Prometheus ruled with his siblings and Cronos, when Cronus learned his fate to be overthrown by his childern. Cronus swallowed his childern but was Zeus was saved from this fate by Gaia and his mother. He freed his siblings and started the war. Prometheus knowing Cronos was doomed to be overthorwn sided with Zeus along with his brother, Epimetheus. As such he was not banish to Tartarus.
Birth of Athena
After Zeus swallowed Metis she began to craft amour inside his stomach giving him a headache. All the gods attempted to heal him but none succeded. However, Prometheus knew and took an axe and cleaved Zeus head and from the wound Athena was born.
The Creation of Man
Prometheus was very important to man and his creation. His brother help in the creation of all life on Earth. He gave feathers, claws, fur, etc. to the animals until there was no good gifts left for men. Prometheus then underook the task of the creation of man. He made them stand upright like the gods. They had no advantages over the animals so Prometheus taught them how to create weapons. Zeus in anger of this wish to know that they would be loyal and demanded a sacrfice. Prometheus killed an oxen and put most of the fat and meat in one pile and put its stomach over it and in the other bones covered and hidden in fat. Zeus choose the latter and in anger denied men fire. Prometheus felt sorry for men and stole the flames of the gods and gave it to man.
Punishment
When Zeus discovered this, he had Prometheus chained to a mountain, made him mortal, and had an eagle eat his liver every day and he would heal at the end of the day. It would repeat until he meets Kratos. In the time he is chained there he would meet and comfort Io while Hera punish her.
The End
After losing his godly might and Zeus attack, Kratos went out to get revenge. After landing on the mountain, Typhon was trapped in he met Prometheus. Prometheus told Kratos his sad story about his fall from grace and he could only die by the Flames of Olympus. Kratos then attacked Prometheus breaking his chains in an attempt to free him from his torment. Prometheus chains broke but wrapped around his neck. After retriving Typhon's Bane Kratos used it to break the chains, dropping Prometheus into the flames defiling it and killing him.
Prometheus' Last Gift
Despite Prometheus death he still had one more gift to give. From Prometheus' death his ashes gave Kratos rage of the titans. When used Kratos cannot be stunned or knock back but not immune to damage.
