Phantoms are dangerous and mystical elemental creatures that are the result of multiple runic springs drawing chaotic and destructive power. The runic springs act as the Phantom's source of power, in which it will continue to absorb more magic as a means to fuel its continuing existence.The physical bodies of the phantoms appear to be made up of particles of natural matter, which depends on what kind of natural element the phantom possesses.
There are two variants: Flame Phantom made of fire and rock in Muspelheim, and Frost Phantom are snow and ice counterpart of the Flame Phantom, it resides in Midgard.
They appear as sub-bosses in God of War Ragnarök.
Norse Mythology[]
While the phantoms didn't appear in any Norse lore, the word Phantom is another word to describe a ghost.
