In God of War: Chains of Olympus, the city of Attica is besieged by a large Fleet of Persian ships. The Fleet is at least 30 ships strong, each with its own ballista. Incredibly powerful, the might of Persia soon overtook the city of Attica. It is assumed that Eurybiades, leader of the Greek army, was mortally wounded by the ballista of one of the point ships. The ships are easily destroyed by flaming ballistas, which penetrate the ships defenses quickly. Kratos effectively destroys a ship by shooting it down with a ballista. After the death of the Persian King and Basilisk the Persian fleet retreated back to Persia defeated.
