Orion-1-

Orion

Orion was a giant huntsman from Greek mythology. He will be available as a playable character on the multiplayer mode of God of War: Ascension.

Greek Mythology

There are two major versions of Orion's birth and several versions of his death. The most important recorded episodes are his birth somewhere in Boeotia, his visit to Chios where he met Merope and was blinded by her father, Oenopion, the recovery of his sight at Lemnos, his hunting with Artemis on Crete, his death caused by the bow of Artemis or by the giant scorpion which became Scorpio sent by Apollo, and his elevation to the heavens.

In Greek literature, he first appears as a great hunter in Homer's epic Odyssey, where Odysseus sees his shade in the Underworld.

The God of War Series

By pre-ordering the game, Orion will be available as a playable character on the multiplayer mode of God of War: Ascension along with Odysseus, Achilles, and Perseus. It is currently unknown if he will make an appearance in the single player campaign.
