Greek Mythology

In greek myth, the Cestus is a weapon that Helios and Hermes used, since Hermes ends up dying, Helios took the other gauntlet and used it to fight within a Bog and find the soul of Hermes and brought him back to life.

g styles to Gauntlet of Zeus. They have lion head shaped designs on them which can be extended on chains. The Cesti are capable of knocking out waves of enemies and breaking chains that hold the Titans. In the trailer, we see Kratos overcome by a horde of enemies, but then an explosions obliterates the entire army and sends them flying, revealing Kratos unharmed. He then uses the weapons to break a massive chain. Therefore, it is assumed that the Cestus contain immense power. Recent pics do show that Kratos will face Hercules, who wields the Cestus. Once Kratos kills him, the Cestus will belong to Kratos.

Movelist

In the God Of War III Demo, the Cestus is available to use, though it is unknown if these moves will be in the final game. Because the power-up and move list menus are unavailable in the demo, the names of the following moves are unknown.

L1 + square - Lion heads extend on chains in a 360-degree spinning move, similar to Cyclone of Chaos.

L1 + triangle - Lion heads extended on chains out to each side, then slam together in front of Kratos.

L1 + circle - One lion head extends out to grab and pull in an enemy, who is slammed with the other Cestus.

L1 + X - Shielding himself with the Cesti, Kratos runs and slams into enemies like a battering ram.
