The Midgard Beast, or also known as The Beast of Burden, is a strange mammalian-looking creature whose corpse is abandoned inside the Mountain.

With their final goal set at the top of the Mountain, Kratos and Atreus enter the interior, where they will have to fight with numerous creatures, solve puzzles to unlock their way and face the mighty Dragon Hræzlyr.
In one of these rooms is the corpse of the creature, covered with cobwebs by the passage of time. A strange animal with long fangs used long ago to support large loads of weight.

- In the concept art, Beast of Burden are a lot of appearances before the final game design are akin chimeric-like elephant and mammoth, rhinoceros, ox, and other mixes unindentified mammal.
