Marbles, or Spiritual Stones, are a magical kind of item used by the Jötnar. Other than being used to seal away their souls, the marbles can also be used to teleport to one another across the realms and beyond. All Marbles are written in Nordic Jötunn names.
When Loki showed Angrboda an empty marble he had found, she would later explain that she had a bag of identical marbles, which contain the souls of the giants that her father helped whisper into the marbles.
In the God of War Series[]
The first marble shown is Hati's which Loki found in Sköll and Hati's shrine. The second marble shown is Gróa's which was found by Loki in Gróa's shrine, which he would later and unknowingly use to teleport to the Jötunn region of Ironwood.
When Loki met Angrboda, one of the last surviving giants, she reveals that her destiny was to show and hand over the bag of collected marbles to him. Explaining that in an attempt to quell their fear of Odin and Thor, a decision was made by Angrboda's father (and likely with the help of her mother and Grýla) to whisper the souls of the remaining Jötunheim Giants into their soul stones, in hopes of bringing them peace as they waited for their champion, Loki, to put an end to Odin's tyranny. What exactly Loki is supposed to do with the marbles are currently unknown. Though it appears that there are only a few marbles, Angrboda revealed that there are more of them but are rather missing.
As Loki and Angrboda find a snake whose soul is stolen, they decide to put in Jörmungandr's soul inside of it, thus reviving it, though it just slithered away without a word. Disappointed of his supposed failed attempt, Loki decides to give Angrboda the bag of marbles. As he decides to leave, she gives him Laufey's marble, which makes Loki teleport back home to Midgard.
As Angrboda decides to set out and find the rest of them in the remaining shrines across the Nine realms, she collects Loki's marble from the latter's own shrine in Jötunheim. She would then use it to meet Loki in Muspelheim where Angrboda collects Surtr's marble from his shrine. She would later again use Loki's marble to visit him and Fenrir in Midgard. During Ragnarök, Angrboda fights alongside with Fenrir and once again used Loki's marble to save him along with Kratos, Freya and Mimir from Asgard's destruction.
As Loki decided to travel outside of the Nine realms to find other surviving giants and fully accepts his identity as Loki, Angrboda gives him her marble so he can visit her at any time.

Trivia[]
- Thiazi is the name of Skadi's father, while Hrodr is the name of a Jotun giantess who is described as being one of Thor's adversaries as well as possibly Tyr's mother. While impossible to know at this stage if they are the same, it indicates that Skadi may have survived the fate attributed to her and saved her father as well.
- Hati's marble are only one found by Loki in Sköll and Hati's shrine while Sköll's marble hasn't found yet, though it is presume he was in bag or marbles.
