| “ | The children of Nidhogg have been left without a parent. Left to their own devices, they will continue to chew holes between the realms and eventually devour the nine realms. This mess was our creation. We must set things right. | ” |
Lindwyrm Scales is a Resource used to craft Weapons and Armor at the Huldra Brothers' (Brok and Sindri) workshop. It was introduced in God of War Ragnarök.
Information[]
Lindwyrm Scales is a resource you can collect, exclusively in God of War Ragnarök. You can get them from completing the Lost Lindwyrm quest. The Lost Lindwyrms is a Side Quest (Favor) you unlock about halfway into God of War: Ragnarok. It tasks you with finding and recovering Lindwyrms from across the Nine Reams so that you can return them to Ratatoskr, and is one of the ways you can earn a Gale Spark and the scales.

How to Unlock The Lost Lindwyrms Favor[]
- Complete The Word of Fate main quest
To begin this Favor, you must first complete The Word of Fate main quest in Midgard. Once you've done this, return to Sindri's House on the world tree and talk to Ratatoskr. He'll be at his usual spot to the left of Sindri's House. He explains that since Kratos and Freya were forced to kill Nidhogg to remove her binding curse, the creature's children have escaped, chewing holes in the nine realms and forming new Yggdrasil Rifts. It's up to Kratos to recover them before they cause too much damage. To start, grab the Lindwyrm Trap on the bench below Ratatoskr. Your task is to recover the six Lindwyrms: four are in Svartalfheim, and two are in Northern Vanaheim. (Similar to Draugr Holes, capturing Lindwyrms will have ascending rewards: you'll get more Hacksilver, Dust of Realms and Lindwyrm Scales with each one you complete regardless of the order you do it in.)
The Forge Lindwyrm[]
- Prerequisite: Begin the Forging Destiny main quest
- Location: Svartalfheim - The Forge
The Lindwyrm is found in Svartalfheim's The Forge region. However, it's in a part of The Forge that is inaccessible until you begin the Forging Destiny main quest. You'll be able to encounter it after climbing out of The Forge with a new piece of equipment. (If you've already completed Forging Destiny and need to get back here, you'll need to retrace your steps. Go to the Nidavellir Beach Mystic Gateway, then take the train back up to The Forge. Head through the main gate and then take the lift back up, then climb out as you did the first time around.) You'll arrive at a spot where you have to shimmy across a ledge, but if this is your first time here, you'll need to clear the huge rock out of the way. Look for a Wind Vent to the left of it, then throw the Draupnir Spear into it. Before climbing up, look left and up of that Wind Vent to find a second one above the gap in the wall: plug it up with another Draupnir to make a swing pole. Once you've plugged both Wind Vents, climb up the first pole, then turn around and swing across the second to get to the Realm Tear! Interact with it and then complete the Quick-Time Event to capture the Lindwyrm.
Alberich Hollow Lindwyrm[]
- Prerequisite: Begin the Forging Destiny main quest
- Location: Svartalfheim - Alberich Hollow
This Lindwyrm is found in Alberich Hollow, which is a location you cannot get to without first completing the Forging Destiny main quest. Once you've done this, head to Dragon Beach and climb up the gold chain on the tall wooden structure on the Northern cliffs. Plug the Wind Vent with a Draupnir Spear, then climb up and grapple across to the large wooden walkway. Head left, and you'll be in Alberich Hollow. Towards the end of the Alberich Hollow tunnel, you'll find a boss Grim called Ormstunga, just before a fallen rock you can pass under. Defeat Ormstunga, then look to the left of a fallen rock for a ledge you can vault up. The Realm Tear with the Lindwyrm will be up the ledge.
Alberich Island Lindwyrm[]
- Prerequisite: Begin the Forging Destiny main quest
- Location: Svartalfheim - Alberich Island
This Yggdrasil Rift is found on Alberich Island, however you cannot get to it until you complete the Forging Destiny main quest and pick up a new piece of equipment. Once you've done this, return to Alberich Island's main beach, then look for the Wind Vent on the right-hand wall: use the Draupnir Spear on it, then climb up the wall to the top. Here, head right up the wooden ramp to the top of an elevator, but the lift is down at the bottom. To raise it, fire a Sonic Arrow at the Soundstone rock on your left, then head through and right down the wooden ramp. At the bottom, look right towards the elevator, and you can see a rock with a Wind Fissure on it: throw a Draupnir Spear at it and then detonate it, allowing the geyser to flow and raise the lift. Head on over to it and use the grapple point to make it onto a wooden platform. There's a Coffin hidden under the elevator! To get it, turn around, then plug up the geyser using the Leviathan Axe. This will lower the lift, allowing you to grapple back over and then find the Coffin hidden behind the wooden wall. The Realm Tear will be on the left-hand side of the wooden platform. You may have spotted it in advance when at the top of the elevator.
The Applecore Lindwyrm[]
- Prerequisite: Begin the Forging Destiny main quest
- Location: Svartalfheim - The Applecore
The Lindwyrm in The Applecore is quite a lengthy one because it's at the Northern end of the titular mine. That means you have to backtrack all the way back through the mine from Sverd Sands to the South. To start, return to The Applecore by going to the Mystic Gateway in the Aurvangar Wetlands, then take the ferry that goes North-West to the Sverd Sands. Here you'll find the elevator back into The Applecore. Once you're down here, look for the Rope Frame you can now use to create a shortcut. Ride down the new zipline, then head North, through the tunnel, deeper into the mine. When you round the corner up ahead, you'll see a high wall with a Wind Vent on the side. Use your new equipment to plug it up, then climb up the wall to the top. At the top, head forward and you'll see a large boulder with a yellow Wind Fissure on it. Throw your new equipment into it and then detonate it with the Triangle button, destroying the boulder. Continue forward and then right, then use the grapple point to cross the gap and climb up the ledge. Head through the tunnel, then kick the chain down at the end so you can slide down to the next room. (If you've not been here before, then you'll have to face a boss first: Miklimunnr the troll. He fights like any other troll, however his fiery attacks can take huge chunks out of your health even on the easiest of difficulties.) From this room, head left through the crawlspace, then out the other side, go through the double doors on your right. Here in this room, look to your right for a spot on the wall you can shimmy across, then head down the hallway. On the other side, veer left and cross over the gap with the grapple point, onto the spiral walkway. As you go down the spiral walkway, keep an eye out on your right for a gap in the fence, with two rope-chains flanking it. Kick down the metal plate if you need to, then drop down below.
Here, head forward and take a right: jump across the gap, then slip under the wooden trough (if you never took this route before, you'll have to destroy some gold rocks by going left first and blowing up the Red Pot). On the other side of the trough, use the grapple point on your left to cross over the blue-lit gap, then leap up to the top of the ledge on your right. There, go through the double doors. Next, look around on your left for a Wind Vent, close to a ledge you can mount up. Instead of doing that, head to the right-hand side of this area and use your new equipment to plug up the vent. You can then swing across the gap. Once you cross the gap, turn left and the Realm Tear will be ahead at the end of the corridor, next to some gold rocks.
The Plains Lindwyrm 1[]
- Location: Vanaheim - The Plains
This Lindwyrm is located in The Plains, part of the "Northern Vanaheim" area that you can visit by following the dog after completing the Creatures of Prophecy main quest. Once you've arrived in this region, you'll be able to locate an elevated area with a tower housing a Celestial Altar, and occupied by Seidr. To get up here, you'll need to circle around from the South-East, close to the zipline that takes you down to The Sinkholes. Once you've cleared this spot of Seidr, head to the North-Eastern corner and drop down to the edge of the canyon/river. Here on your left will be the Realm Tear, behind a tree.
The Plains Lindwyrm 2[]
- Prerequisite: Nighttime
- Location: Vanaheim - The Plains
The final Lindwyrm is found in the arena where you fight the dragon known as The Crimson Dread, in the North-Western part of the region. To enter here, it must be nighttime (unless you've been here before and can thus access the Mystic Gateway). Once you've arrived, check the North-Eastern corner of the arena to find the Realm Tear. If you've been keeping up, this will be the final location for this Favor, giving you a Gale Spark. Now that you have all six Lindwyrms, your six Gale Sparks will be a Gale Flame, which you can use to upgrade the Draupnir Spear. You should also return to Ratatoskr in order to get your XP rewards as well.
