Light crystals are ancient blue minerals, found in Alfheim, imbued with the Light of Alfheim. Throughout God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarök, these crystals are used to create light bridges made of solid light, make torches, even unlock new areas and make realm tears appear. They are moved by Kratos over his left shoulder. They are activated when struck by Light Arrows, shot by Atreus. As far as the games have fortold, they are considered unbreakable. When a Light crystal is covered in any way, the corresponding light bridge is instantly undone, and the crystal must be struck again to reactivate it. In contrast to the Shatter Crystals, these ones cannot be tossed, presumably due to their weight.
Trivia[]
- With some crystals, the more Atreus shoots them, the brighter they become. This behavior is inconsistent with other crystals of the same type. A simple explanation could be the size difference. It could play a major role in this behavioral discrepancy among similar minerals.
- Atreus enjoys walking on light bridges.
