The Lake of Souls is a location in God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarök. Connected to the Light of Alfheim, it acts as an afterlife for every Giant, Dwarf, Elf, beast and animal who dies in the Nine Realms.

Overview[]

Is an giant and shining lake, this is where creatures like Animals, Dwarves, Elves, Monsters and Jötnar lay after dying and join the Light of Alfheim.

According to Odin being disguised as Tyr, the lake and the light is older than himself.

  • It's unknown if Humans and Deities can also enter the Lake of Souls after they've died, but since Mimir seems to specifically exclude those from his explanation to Atreus it's likely that they don't.
