Biography[]

Early life[]

Harðrefill was a warrior in the Midgardian kingdom of Lejre who served under Hrólf Kraki, along with eleven fellow berserkers. He participated in Hrólf's seizure of the crown, where he earned the epithet "the Callous". He was known for his precision with a blade, which he used to prolong his opponents’ suffering. Upon his death, Harðrefill's spirit went onto inhabit the Hilt of Skofnung.

God of War Ragnarok[]

Kratos defeated Harðrefill's spirit and channeled his powers through Skofnung.

Harðrefill's gravestone is found in Niðavellir during the return from The Forge with the Draupnir Spear.

Description[]

"A follower of the false King Hrólf. According to Mimir, he was known for his particular cruelty in battle. Harðrefill's skill with a blade was precise, and he used this precision to extend the suffering of his victims. Instead of beheading them in one swift move, he would dismember. Slow and deliberate. A vile practice. He will be forgotten."

  • When Kratos documents his encounters with the berserkers, it shows that Harðrefill is the only berserker he scorns the most than the rest.
