We shouldn't have played with such magic. Regret is my only company.

Norse Mythology[]
God of War: Ragnarök[]
Not much is actually known about the female spirit, Gunhild. What we do know is she was a Vanir worshiper of the Goddess Freya. Gunhild tells Kratos and Freya "When the Einherjar came we needed a way to fight back. I suggested.. Seiðr magic." Freya tells her that she understands the amount of desperation she must've felt, but that was a foolish mistake. Gunhild agrees with Freya and states that she was murdered before her mind could become corrupted, sadly she adds her allies were not as fortunate as her in that regard. Gunhild shows that she truly does care for Vanaheim and her fellow Vanir by asking Freya and Kratos to please free her allies, corrupted minds so they can finally be free from their torment. Freya and Gunhild clearly knew each other before Freya left to Asgard and married Odin.
