Ethon is the giant eagle sent by Zeus to torture the titan Prometheus, devouring his entrails every day while he remained in chains for committing the sin of stealing and delivering the Fires of Olympus to men.

The Caucasus Eagle, Ethon or the Eagle of Prometheus was a giant eagle born from the monsters Typhon and Echidna. As punishment for stealing fire from Mount Olympus, chained to a pillar in the Caucasus Mountains, and Ethon ate his liver all day, but at night it grew back and the cycle lasted 30,000 years.
God of War II[]
In the Lair of Typhon, the eagle is found devouring the intestines of the chained Titan Prometheus. As Kratos, he flies into one of the fingers of hand it was on.
