The crystallised gem-like tear of a captive dragon.

– In-Game Description

Dragon Tears are a Legendary resource found in God of War (2018).

Acquisition & Usage[]

Dragon Tears are used to upgrade the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages. Naturally, Kratos can obtain them from incidents involving dragons.

Hræzlyr[]

When visiting the Mountain again after returning from the first visit to Alfheim, as Kratos and Atreus head to the top, they will be ambushed by a dragon, which they fend off easily. However, the dragon soon turns its attention to Sindri. To rescue him, Kratos will fight the dragon alone, rewarding him with a Dragon Tooth and his son the ability to fire electrified arrows, in addition to a Dragon Tear.

Dagsetr[]

After retrieving the Black Rune from Týr's Vault, Kratos and Atreus will venture to The Mountain again, to travel to Jotunheim. Once at the top again, Baldur will ambush the duo and kidnap Atreus, retreating on the back of his pet dragon, Dagsetr. Kratos will give chase in a brawl that seriously injures the dragon, causes the three gods to crash at Týr's Temple, and soon wind up in Helheim.

After escaping Helheim, the two discover that the dragon crashed and died at the Forgotten Caverns. They can climb up to the mouth of the dragon, where they can dig up a single, final tear.

Fafnir[]

While exploring the Lake of Nine, Kratos and Atreus can find a massive chamber next to the Alfheim tower, where they find that Fafnir has been transformed into a dragon and imprisoned. The two defeat all enemies inside and destroy the shrines keeping him bound. After freeing him, Fafnir flies off, leaving behind an enchantment and a Dragon Tear.

Otr[]

While exploring Veithurgard, Kratos and Atreus can find a dragon imprisoned by Mótsognir. The two defeat all enemies in the area and destroy the shrines keeping the dragon bound. After freeing him, Otr flies off, leaving behind an enchantment and a Dragon Tear.

Reginn[]

While exploring Konunsgard to obtain the crafting materials needed to make the Dwarven Armor of Legend, Kratos and Atreus can find another dragon imprisoned by Mótsognir. The two defeat all enemies in the area and destroy the shrines keeping the dragon bound. After freeing him, Reginn flies off, leaving behind an enchantment and a Dragon Tear.
