“ | The Domain of Death. A dark netherworld nestled between the land of the living and the realm of the dead. A purgatory ruled by the God of Death, Thanatos. | ” |

The Domain of Death is Thanatos's realm, a purgatory existing between the earth and the Underworld. It is where Kratos had gone to rescue his brother, Deimos, who was held prisoner there since youth. It is a fourth-dimensional realm, lacking time entirely.
God of War: Ghost of Sparta[]
After Kratos found the Skull of Keres, he went to Atlantis and used it as a key to unlock the doors to the Domain. After doing so, he ventured forth in order to rescue his brother, Deimos. In here Kratos solved the domain's puzzles, removed obstacles, and shrugged off discouragement from Thanatos himself. Once being found and despite being rescued, Deimos attacked Kratos, winning the battle, and pounded Kratos with his gauntlets, before Thanatos took him to the Suicide Bluffs. A mortally wounded Kratos staggered forward, as his desire to rescue Deimos had not lessened. He leaped from the nearby cliff and fell down to the Bluffs, albeit a long way from his brother.
Trivia[]
