Dáinsleif is one of the usable sword relics in God of War Ragnarök. It belonged to King Högni, ruler of the kingdom of Fjöturlund and father to Sigrún. The sword is known for inflicting wounds that never heal.
Norse Mythology[]
According to Snorri Sturluson's account of the never-ending battle Hjaðningavig, Dáinsleif is the dwarven-forged sword of King Högni. When he was offered compensation for his daughter'abduction by Prince Heðinn, the son of Hjarrandi, actually Odin, Högni replies:
"Thou hast made this offer over-late, if thou wouldst make peace: for now I have drawn Dáinsleif, which the dwarves made, and which must cause a man's death every time it is bared, nor even fails in its stroke; moreover the wound heals not if one be scratched by it."
