Greek Mythology

In Greek mythology, the Cyclops were giants with a single eye. They were the children of Gaia and Uranus. These monsters were used by the Gods to construct Mount Olympus and complete other tasks that the Gods needed completed.

In the God of War Series

Cyclops are seen throughout the God of War series, and come in many large variations, all of which are very powerful and usually present a significant danger in battle. All Cyclops have a specific death move which Kratos can perform through the activation and success of a mini-game. In God of War: Chains of Olympus, Cyclops were recruited by the Persian King in the Siege of Attica. In God of War they where used by Ares in the Siege of Athens and are also seen guarding parts of Pandora's Temple. In God of War II they dwell throughout the Island of Creation. In God of War III Kratos has the ability to control the cyclops by repeatedly stabbing them. However this action damages the monster.
