In the God of War series, Kratos will find Chests all throughout his quests. There are several different types of chests, which then yield different things when opened.
Types of Chests
- Item Chest - Opening it can give Kratos important items such as a Gorgon Eyes or Phoenix Feathers. On some occasions (like if Kratos has already collected all the Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers he can), these chests just yield Red Orbs. In God of War II, some hidden chests throughout the game contain Urns of Power.
- Red Orb Chest - When Kratos opens it, he'll receive a certain amount of Red Orbs.
- Green Orb Chest - When Kratos opens it he'll receive Green Orbs.
- Blue Orb Chest - When Kratos opens it he'll receive Blue Orbs.
- Gold Orb Chest - When Kratos opens it he'll receive Gold Orbs (this type of chest is only found in God of War II).
- Combination Chest - You can choose which color to open it on, and when you do, Kratos receives orbs based on that color (mostly it's between green or blue).
- Gaia Chest - Three chests hidden on the Island of Creation by Gaia granting Kratos aditional red orbs, a health upgrade, and a magic upgrade.
