Ceryx is a god, son of Hermes, who serves as a messenger to Olympus. He is the final boss in God of War: Betrayal.
After seeing Kratos's activities as god of war, which resulted in destruction of several Greek city-states by the
hands of Spartans and death of Argos, the gods send Ceryx to persuade Kratos to stop. However, the god of war refused
to obey, attacked and killed the messenger. With his death, Kratos realised that Olympus will never accept him and this
is only the beginning of a conflict, that continued in God of War II.
