The Bow of Apollo was the second weapon that Kratos acquired in God of War III, the first being the Blades of Exile. Kratos obtained it after he killed Peirithous, the mortal lover of Persephone, who was imprisoned in the Underworld by Hades and was condemned to spend all eternity trapped within a cage of brambles.

That item had similar moves to Typhon's Bane, except that it used fire instead of wind. It was strong against Harpies, Olympus Sentry and Humans. The Bow has two main firing modes; a rapid-fire mode in which Kratos could launch a flurry of arrows in rapid succession, or a power mode, where Kratos charged up the bow to release flaming shots. Instead of using magic, the Bow used a separate bar that recharged after use. How Peirithous came into possession of the Bow of Apollo was currently unknown. It may be leveled up once for damage increase. It was the only item which allowed Kratos to directly burn dry brambles. The arrows from that bow seemed to be unaffected by gravity, unlike the arrows from the Olympus Archers. The Bow ended up destroyed by Zeus' Astral Form along with the rest of Kratos' Equipment excluding the Blades of Exile, the Blade of Olympus, and the Boots of Hermes.
