Activate to temporarily empower up the Leviathan Axe with small explosions of FROST damage on every hit and slight bonus to RUNIC and normal attacks.

– In-Game Description

Blessings of the Frost is a Heavy Runic Attack for the Leviathan Axe in God of War (2018).

In God of War (2018)[]

Description[]

Blessings of the Frost is a Heavy Runic Attack for the Leviathan Axe, which can be activated by pressing PS4 L1 + PS4 R2 together. When activated, Kratos will charge up the axe, causing the axe's blade to take on a blue glow, for a brief period. During this period, the axe will see a boost to Runic and normal attacks, with normal attacks sending forth small waves of ice that deal extra damage and frost to enemies. Upgrades increase the duration and effects of the attack.

Acquisition[]

Blessings of the Frost can be collected from a Legendary Chest at Thamur's Corpse, in Midgard. The Legendary Chest in question is found just a few clicks ahead of Sindri's first shop there. To reach it, Kratos has to carefully move a giant block of stone, so he climb onto a broken wooden sword to reach it.

However, this is a missable item, and as such, it can alternatively be purchased from the shop for 50,000 Hacksilver and 30 Aegir's Gold.

Trivia[]

  • Although Blessings of the Frost doesn't return as a Runic Attack in God of War Ragnarök, it has been repurposed into the Glacial Permafrost skill for the Axe.
    • While Glacial Permafrost increased the rate of Permafrost gain in God of War (2018), in God of War Ragnarök it instead allows the axe to mimic the effects of Blessings of the Frost, by pressing PS4 L1 + PS4 Triangle together when the Permafrost gauge is full.
