Alva was the Light Elf Queen of Alfheim and a boss in God of War Ragnarök.

Biography[]

Alva was the leader of the Light Elf faction in the War for the Light. After Svartáljǫfurr, the King of the Dark Elves, was slain by Kratos and Atreus, Alva was elected to succeed him as the custodian of the Temple of Light, which lies below the Ringed Temple.

God of War Ragnarök[]

When Kratos, Atreus, and Tyr returned to Alfheim to interfere in the war between the Light and Dark Elves during the onset of Ragnarök, Alva attacked them in the Temple of Light but was killed in the process.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla[]

A recreated version of Alva appears in Valhalla as a boss, as Valhalla had taken advantage of Kratos' memory of his past fight with the Light Elf Queen prior to the onset of Ragnarök.

Description[]

"Winters ago we defeated the Dark Elf king Svartáljǫfurr. It appears in his absence, a new guardian of the Temple of Light was anointed. Her swordsmanship and command of her form was unlike any I have gone up against. She was the aggressor, but once again Atreus questions if we have "helped the wrong side", referring to the struggle between the Light and Dark Elves. The only side we can take in this conflict is our own."

Appearance[]

Like most Light Elves, Alva dressed in elegant white robes with gold trimmings. Her legs and face are armored in gold. She is distinguished as Queen by her golden crown-like headdress.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Light Elf Physiology: Alva has all the attributes of her race such as greater strength, speed, agility and longevity.
  • Flight: Like all light elves, Alva can levitate and fly great distances.
  • Swordsmanship: In his journal, Kratos commended Alva's swordsmanship and command of her form as "unlike any I have ever gone up against."

  • Twin Swords: Alva possesses two twin swords made of magical light which are very powerful.

  • Like her counterpart Svartáljǫfurr of the Dark Elves, along with Beyla and Byggvir of Freyr's group, she is one of the few named Elves in the Norse setting.
