Achilles GOWAscension

Achilles costume (Final draft) in God of War: Ascension

Achilles was a Greek hero, and the central character of Homer's Iliad. His armor will be available in the multiplayer mode of God of War: Ascension.

Greek Mythology

Aoaf

When Achilles was born, his mother, Thetis, tried to make him immortal by dipping him in the River Styx. As she immersed him within the river, she held him by one heel, which remained untouched by the waters; this made Achilles' entire body nigh-indestructible, save for his heel, which was his only weak point. Achilles became a student of the centaur Chiron at a young age.

Achilles fought heroically against the Trojans during the Trojan War. He was a strong asset to the Greeks and even defeated Hector. Achilles was eventually killed by Paris, who shot his heel with a poisoned arrow from behind. Paris' hand was guided by Apollo. Odysseus helped retrieve Achilles' body from the battle.

To this day, any weak point is called an 'Achilles Heel', named after the vulnerable spot on the nearly immortal hero.

In The God of War Series

Galvanized in the River Styx, this armor has offered protection to one of Greece's legendary war heroes.

–In game description

By pre-ordering the game, Achilles' armor will become available in the multiplayer mode along with Odysseus', Perseus', and Orion', as the Mythological Heroes pack.
